What Dance Means to Me
By Sarah Copeland

Dance is my everything, dance is my life, I could not live without it. I need it as much as the air I breathe and I am not saying that just to be dramatic, it's true. I can hardly go through a day without dance. Dancing helps me express how I feel whether it's happy, sad or angry. Dancing always makes me feel better, it makes me feel alive. I dance around my house, at church and everywhere I go.

It's hard to express all that dance means to me. Since I have been going to Roanoke Ballet Theatre I've improved and grown so much. I feel so accomplished and have gotten so much better than I ever thought I could be. My parents and my teachers support me and that's all I can really ask for is support for what I love. I never could have gotten this far without Roanoke Ballet Theatre, my teachers and my parents. I have been thinking about pursuing a career in dance.

And, that's what dance means to me.
